Synthelast achieves GRS certification for recycled materials
Revista Técnica del Calzado highlights Synthelast’s Global Recycled Standard certification, a further step in our commitment to recycled-material traceability and sustainable innovation for footwear.
Synthelast has achieved Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification for recycled materials. Revista Técnica del Calzado (RTC) reports on this milestone in its Eco Sostenible section, in an article entitled ‘GRS certificate: full guarantees for recycled materials’. GRS certification verifies products’ recycled content and traceability, and also addresses social, environmental and chemical requirements in their production. It supports our work to incorporate recycled materials into the footwear industry with verifiable assurances. Based in Elche, where we began operating in 1973, we develop polymers and elastomers for a range of industrial applications, with a particular focus on footwear. Our sustainable-material range includes thermoplastic rubber (TR), flexible PVC and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) formulations with different percentages of recycled content. GRS certification complements the ReadyforEcodesigned sustainable-material seal awarded by INESCOP, also highlighted in the article. RTC also reports on our participation in the European Value Rubber project alongside organisations from Spain, Belgium and France. The project focuses on developing DevulCore technology to recycle rubber from various industries, aiming to recover material and enable its use in new products, including footwear soles. We continue to develop solutions that support resource recovery and the circular economy. This certification reinforces our commitment to innovation and the development of sustainable alternatives for our customers.
